Planet Guy is back & better than ever!!

JULY 2005

Hi everybody! It's been a long time since I have been able to work on PlanetGuy.com, but I haven't lost my passion for the cause. I still believe all of us should do our part for the environment. The world is still awash with computer junk, landfills are still filling up, the air pollution is still increasing, and recycling programs are failing because of the cost and inconvenience. People seem to be losing interest in the need to conserve our resources and recycle. So, I'm back to get it going again.

My hope is that everyone will see the need to do their part. The future for our kids and their kids and their kids depends on it. Please take the time to evaluate what you do on a daily basis.

*Do you recycle those aluminum cans, or throw them away? What about the newspapers? They can also be recycled. Every day I see aluminum cans and other recyclable materials in the trash. We have got to reduce the amount of trash in our landfills and conserve our resources. Please recycle what you can.

*Do you just jump in the car and go with no real reason or plan? Can you conserve those trips to save gas? Today's cars seem to be getting bigger and bigger adding to air pollution and exhausting our fossil fuels. What happened to the movement toward smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles? As far as that goes, why haven't we developed hydrogen fuel cells and other alternative forms of fuel for our vehicles? What are we waiting for? Is it purely for profit reasons that we continue to use fossil fuels? If that is the case, we need to look at our system of values.

These are only a couple of topics, but you can see the impact that just these two items would have. If everyone would just recycle their aluminum cans and reduce the trips in their vehicles, the positive effect on our environment would be impressive. I know it seems small and trivial, but we have to start somewhere.

The concerns for the environment seem to be on hold. We can't let that happen. So I am back to remind folks to do their part. I will be adding articles on these and other subjects as I can, so check back often for more information on what you can do to help our planet. I will also be adding links to companies that provide eco-products and other resource information. I welcome your suggestions for articles and resource links. Together, we can make a difference.

Please, reduce, reuse, and recycle! Do it as if your lives depended on it, because it really does.

Thanx, Planet Guy
